Done Solo

I guess I’m done with solo travels for a while. In the last 3 months, I’ve gone on 2 trips alone for a total of almost a month. And frankly, I’m a little fatigued from jet setting around. Even though the tempo of both vacations was as different as day and night, the commonality was that of being alone in a foreign land.

But don’t get me wrong, I’m still an advocate of holidaying overseas on one’s own at least once in a lifetime. It can be so liberating, yet at the same time, a sense of trepidation ensues – not knowing what surprises and dangers lurk around the corner. However, solo trippin’ has its own deficiencies too as I’m well aware of.

On my travels, I didn’t have someone to share my experiences, only photos and videos. And when it came to mealtimes, food choices get limited in places where sharing is encouraged and single portions are few and far between. Most importantly though, there’s no one to push me out of my comfort zone because it’s so easy to just stay safe.
