In psychology, flow is defined as a state of mind where one engages in an activity that provides immediate feedback to maintain that state while having the confidence in one’s skills to take on the challenges.
With so much work piling up these days, I schedule my work day by stringing up mini flows. Interruptions abound, I tend not to work on huge tasks unless I’m sure I can stay in the zone through.
Otherwise, a little distraction sometimes help me to re-focus and formulate a different approach especially when I’m on stuck on a difficult task. This flow break lets the idea simmer and hopefully result in a moment of brilliance.
