It’s slightly more than a month away now and preparations are in full swing now. In the jam packed September, we settled the floral decor, food tasting, guest list, playlist and some of the ceremonial prep amidst an intense period of work and trip planning.
One quarter of this month was effectively a respite for us since our last overseas vacation was back in February. We enjoyed ourselves in Taiwan, revisiting Taroko Gorge as I didn’t have a chance to admire its grandeur when I was last there years ago due to a passing typhoon.
On my 6th trip there, we also explored Green Island off the east coast known for its idyllic landscapes and crystal clear waters. We relished our first scooter experience: Initial trepidation quickly gave way to thrills as we grew confident of the handling as we coasted around the island to explore the lush surroundings.
Snorkelling was an eye-opening adventure too as we floated in the clear waters to peer down at aquatic life and coral reefs despite us having a lack of water confidence. Feeding the fishes wore down the anxiety of being in the open waters.
It was a well-deserved break after 6 months especially when everything is bustling. It will be 2 more months before our next holiday, though before we actually get there, there’s a whole lot more including the reception to get through in the next few weeks.
