Quickly looking back at resolutions made at the start of 2010:
- Maintain work-life balance. One adhoc project per semester.
Unsuccessful. Hoping to get back on track next semester. - Learn a new skill. Guitar, Java, Cooking? Choose one.
Successful. Currently self-learning the piano/keyboard. - Bungee and skydive in Queenstown, New Zealand!
Unsuccessful. Postponed for graduation trip in 2013. - Travel and see the world. Next up: Adelaide & Taipei.
Partially successful. Visited Taipei, Adelaide’s gotta wait! - Run at least once a week. Weekly mileage – 10K.
Unsuccessful. Knee’s busted; might take some time to recover. - Write whenever possible. Reduce laptop use.
Successful. Took down notes on paper this semester! - Engage in voluntary work. Benefit the society-at-large.
Unsuccessful. It’s harder than I thought… - Obtain a bond-free scholarship. Be sponsored!
Unsuccessful. Scrapped after considering undue pressure.
You know people often can’t keep to resolutions, it’s true! As you can see, I’ve not been very diligent when it comes to fulfilling promises made at the start of this year. It’s not easy keeping to resolutions, but they are useful when you use them to plan for the year ahead. Whenever you can, always go back to it and also do a post evaluation at the end of it all so that you’ll know how well you’ve done.
