The calm before the storm

It’s been quite an uneventful midweek. Monday blues were quickly washed away with an introduction to urban operations. We had fun playing the attacking and defending forces against certain ‘key’ installations. Then it was followed by almost 2 hours of cohesion games that greatly boosted our morale.

We also picked up First Aid skills to enable us to save lives during combat situations. In fact, I think it would become a life-long skill that will accompany us throughout the rest of our life and come in handy one day if the need arises.

There was also an observance parade to commerate our nation’s 42nd year of independence followed by an afternoon endurance training 6km run to get our bodies ready and condition for the Singapore Bay Run on the 26th of August which is barely 2 weeks away. Judging by our performance, I don’t think it would be such an arduous task for us after all.

As easy as this week may seem to be, the momentum of training is picking up again. Numerous major exercises and strenuous training awaits us in the not-so-distant future. But I believe that with a positive mindset and a little bit of motivation from each other, we’ll make it through together.

3 more weeks to becoming a Corporal. I have 7 weeks more to go before end of course. And I still wouldn’t have my Corporal rank yet.
