It only seems like yesterday that we just got back from Taiwan. Yet on Sunday/Monday, we are flying off again. Australia’s the destination this time. This is the third time we’re going overseas this year, and also our last in service but every trip is unique and different in its own sense. Looking back, time really flies. Do you remember how anxious and worry-stricken we were back then in March when we flew off to Thailand, land of a thousand smiles, yet we find it so difficult to find a reason to crack a smile? Or the time we were left stranded for hours at Kaohsiung International Airport because our flight was delayed?
7 months on, we’re here again – about to embark on a journey to another foreign country. Although we have heard many exciting stories, it is still venturing into the unknown that leaves us not really knowing what to expect. A new experience is always about stepping out of our comfort zones. And to adapt to a strange and foreign environment is no easy feat. We need to learn how to embrace the culture and lifestyle to fully immerse ourselves into the experience. We need to let go of our fears and worries to be able to take the first step forward.
Yes, times are hard and the days are not as easy to get through as before. But we have been through darker days than this. Tough times don’t last, tough men do. As cliche as this may sound, it’s only through this darkness that we can find the light to alleviate our sufferings. Truth be told, we’ve already been through so much to get to where we are today. So, let’s not give up on this final lap and soldier on. Persevere. ‘Cos this last flight will take us home.
