2020 had been a terrible year by most accounts and that kinda makes it easier for 2021 to be a year to shine. Last year, lockdowns had limited socialisation as people spent more time socially distant. So as much as possible this year, I’m going to resume some social interactions.
With the pandemic still raging on in most parts of the world, travelling is out of the picture at least till the later half. In fact by then, I’d have been grounded for 2 years which has made for quite significant savings, enough to think about where to put this unexpected windfall into.
I could dip this additional savings into investments or perhaps even pour it into my own bachelor’s pad. As such, capital building is going to feature deeply in my 2021 resolutions as I look to shore up my finances in the next few years for big ticket items.
Nonetheless, I think this year wouldn’t be all that smooth-sailing as there is still too much uncertainty out there. While a career switch may not be on the cards, I’m trying hard to fill in my perceived skills gap and identify a niche area that I’m good at.
2021 will be the year of reset where people are gonna start their lives anew, with a focus on rebuilding their social circle, finances and career outlook after a devastating period last year. And that is what I’m looking to do too.
