Year 2009 in 60s

[]

I find it incomplete if I don’t do a review of the past year. But due to time constraints, it would be impossible to do a comprehensive month-on-month annual review. So instead, to close the chapter on 2009, I would try my best to summarize the year in sixty seconds. Here goes:

The past year can be defined by 3 key moments, more specifically, 3 dates on the calendar, namely February 9th, August 17th and December 5th.

09 Feb: A day that I’ve been waiting for close to 2 years. After spending almost 2 years in green, it’s a relief to be able to finally drop the colour. Even if it is for a short time. The day truly marked the end of full-time service.

17 Aug: First day of school in over 2 years. Brain needed a little derusting and oiling to get things going. Memorably, for all the preparation put in, I ended up waiting in the wrong room for the first lesson.

05 Dec: Outbound flight to Vietnam. First OCIP trip ever. No initial intention but signed up on the last minute before the deadline. After successful application, I spent hours convincing my parents. Regrets? None.

Why wasn’t September 26th included? Well, while it was also extraordinary in its own ways, I wouldn’t deem it as a life-changing moment. So, I guess these 3 events summed up 2009 and I hope I didn’t run overtime!
