It’s a taste of working life. Ok, maybe not but it’s definitely felt like it. From Monday to Wednesday, we had been doing mindless cleaning in preparation for Australia. Only taking occasional breaks in between, we laboured from sunrise to sun down everyday. It was mind-numbing but it was also a test of our perseverance and persistence.
On Thursday and Friday, we toiled under the searing heat to layout the stores for AQIS inspection. And once it was done and sealed, we immediately had to move them into the containers so as to make space for the next batch of equipment to be inspected. Fortunately, we had fairly fine weather except for the sporadic showers on Friday morning.
As much as we were glad to get our stores quarantine approved, the way in which the checks were conducted had left us pondering about the questionable standards. We kinda felt cheated of our efforts as the checks were carried out superficially. But well, it’s better than staying in on Saturday to re-clean them, so who cares?
