Failure. The mother of all successes. Stems from incompetency and inexperience. But sometimes, you just can’t deny that there’s epic failure. There are people who just can’t get simplest of things right. They see life as a game – thinking that when it’s game over, a re-spawn will simply get them going again. But life’s not a game, you don’t get three lives or saved games.
Talk is cheap. You can have the best of strategies on paper and still end up as the biggest loser if you thought things will be that easy. And you would have sufficiently proved your point over the course of your duty when all you have achieved is nothing but disdain. You know it could have been better if you left things the way they are but you just had to do them your way.
And if you deem the success of the mission a higher priority than the well-being of your men, then it further demonstrates your ineptitude and callousness as a leader. What needs working on is your attitude and your handling of people-to-people relations. Perhaps if you showed a little more compassion and humility, we could excuse you of your naiveté and ineptness.
