National Day ’08

Last year, I didn’t manage to catch the National Day Parade on television as it was on a Sunday and I had to book in to camp early. Fast forward one year and here I am now watching the parade live (in the comfort of my own home of course as I didn’t even bother to ballot for tickets this year).

Anyway, this week was heavily packed. Parade rehearsals took up Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday was the actual parade followed by a grueling 16km Matilda run in the afternoon. It was certainly not a walk in the park as the route included plenty of up-slopes and over rocky terrain.

Fortunately, we got some rest for our tired feet on Thursday. But with the National Day observance parade on Friday and an 11km ECP run hot on its heels, we had to endure the fatigue and push ourselves to our physical limits.

By the way, Happy 43th Singapore! 🙂
