As our seniors start to take their leave, we begin to wonder how life would be without them. Perhaps it would be hard at first, but as time passes, we’ll slowly but surely adapt and get used to the emptiness left behind.

The transition has already begun taking place since about a month ago. You’ll start to recognize the signs of things to come. The empty beds. The missing vibrancy. The absence of spontaneity. People will be disappearing from time to time as they clear their leaves and offs. And suddenly, evenings became quiet and serene occasions.

Very soon, we’ll become seniors ourselves and hopefully, we’ll be as good role models as our seniors were for us. As we step up to take over this role, they’ll be back in the civilian world and we want to wish them all the best in their future endeavours. But for now, it’s au revoir.
