This week’s evaluation was a success. Although you can’t really say that it was entirely due to our performance but it’s really the immense effort that we put in to deter the exercise unit from having an easy time. In fact, the amount of work is probably equivalent to 3 consecutive evaluations and the level of determination that we showed is laudable.
So what if we have to toil under the hot sun for hours and then continue into the wee hours of the night? The payoff was rewarding as we watched exasperated soldiers making futile attempts to find their way in. We sweated. We bled. We sacrificed sleep. We accomplished the near impossible. Time was tight but we made effective use of the little that’s left of it.
What made it even more memorable was that it was our seniors’ last evaluation and it was a worthy salute towards the undying dedication and immeasurable contributions that they have given for the duration of their service. It has been an honour to have work with them for the past 9 months. We’ll miss them.
