Beginning of the new year, and it seems that the future doesn’t bode well for us. Vehicles are arriving so late that they don’t usually arrive till the actual day of move-out instead of the day before. So, preparations have become a game of waiting and mad rush when the vehicles finally turn up.
Mission-wise, while we’re desperately hoping for a short and quick one, it turned out otherwise because of some unforeseen circumstances. Hence, rather than returning to camp at 5, we only manage to hit home by 7. Fortunately, we were spared from cleaning the stores as they were going to be used for next week’s evaluation.
But we didn’t escape from the mandatory arms cleaning which dragged our book-out timing to just after 11. This led to some frantic tiresome sprinting from the camp gates to the train station, including a cab ride, in order to catch the last train.
Yes, we booked out on a Thursday night, a couple of minutes before Friday, as we had to get our passports done the next morning to facilitate our Thailand trip slightly more than a month away. Great, hopefully things get better.
