Each year when the festive December comes about, it typically spells a respite as the working class clear their leave and students take a break from school. With most activities winding down for the year and most holidaymakers spending their year-end abroad, things can get a little quiet.
It always seem like the perfect time to make use of the slack to catch up on deferred projects. But this December felt a little busier than usual. Emails seeking availabilities in the final weeks came fast and furious with several meetings scheduled for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, albeit both being half-days.
While some weeks still had slower days, the pace was indeed atypical of the year-end lull. What little pockets of time that remained had to be mustered up to work on previously on-hold tasks. I do sincerely hope that this is not a sign of things to come as the new year is just around the corner.
