I never thought that adulting would be tough. As most Asian kids do, I’ve stayed with my parents for all of my life. And for a good part of it, I didn’t think I was going to move out. But in a blink of an eye, I’m about to shift out from the place I call home for the past 3 decades.

Fortunately for me, I don’t have many belongings that I plan to move over, so that’s not the biggest worry. Besides the obvious financial burden, shifting to a new place also entails lots of research, planning and scheduling to ensure everything goes as smooth as possible.

Even with the wealth of knowledge and resources online these days, I didn’t find any definitive guide on the process and timeline of preparation work one can refer to before they move into a new place. But maybe that’s part of adulting too where I just have to learn from experience.
