After 2 and a half years of having my wings clipped, I finally managed to take an overseas vacation where I can truly get away from work. While it was a short holiday, it was a break that was sorely needed especially after the turmoil of the past 2 months.
Being in a foreign land where the pandemic seemed a lifetime ago, the experience was surreal – no masks (mostly), no check-ins, vaccination checks. In absence of the typical tourist crowds, it made travelling around all the more sweet post-pandemic.
This was a trip of many firsts. The first post-pandemic. The first with a loved one. The first where I stood under falling snow. The first where all my spending was via cashless means. The first where I travelled without a dedicated camera and for once, had posed photos beyond landscapes in my gallery.
Call it revenge travelling, but I can’t wait to fly again now that vacations are back in vogue.
