With some activities being restricted and dine-in banned again, the outside world seems a little less bustling and enticing once more. People retreated into their homes as sanctuaries as work from home arrangements resurged and delivery services flourished as majority turned to these providers to meet their food, groceries and other shopping needs. In times like this, I’ve rediscovered the joy of spending time indoors with loved ones.
The simplest pleasures in life often come not from the pursuit of material possessions or extravagant experiences but just enjoying quality time in the company of family. Besides work, these past two weeks have been surprisingly lovely. As much as I’m used to spending a lot of time indoors, I didn’t expect myself to find the whole experience so refreshing and entertaining.
Whether it’s curling up in bed binge-watching dramas, doing HIIT till we’re all drenched in sweat or just focusing hard trying to paint within the lines with watercolours (which I haven’t done since primary school), these have been activities I probably wouldn’t find myself doing if not for the heightened measures. And honestly, I’ve kinda grown to love this kind of lifestyle.
