Tides are changing and joy is fleeting. There’s a Chinese axiom which goes ‘When the roof leaks, it pours”. So I guess bad things do come in a spate. Oftentimes this year, I found myself re-evaluating life and what I’m doing with it. I don’t feel happy.

They say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Well, I tried and the lemons are still sour. In fact, life began giving me oranges, apples and all kinds of fruits. What am I supposed to do with just a small lemonade stand? I’m overwhelmed.

Then I looked back at my new year’s resolution this year. 2019 will be the year to tidy up my life and get rid of things that don’t spark joy, in the words in the reverent Marie Kondo. How apt and timely this premonition will prove to be in time to come.
