Midpoint

It’s almost halfway through the year and I have yet to take a vacation or an extended break this year. I do admit that the continuous stream of work in the last couple months has taken a toll on me. Undoubtedly, it’s been especially tough as I was heavily involved in company activities besides routine work which has also expanded in scope.

But now that that’s over, I can finally get some respite. There are still some loose ends to tie up as well as new commitments lined up but fortunately, they are well paced out. Therefore, as long as I can strike them off the to-do list promptly, these tasks shouldn’t pile up. And if everything plays out smoothly, I can take my well-deserved break in about a month’s time.

Truth be told, I could really use that break right now but now doesn’t seem to be the opportune time. Perhaps I’m used to taking a vacation every half a year and hence, the unease of being grounded for the past months. Or it could be that people around me have been flying around so often that it has incited a tinge of travel envy. Whatever it is, my turn is nigh.
