So long Sophomore! As yet another academic year comes to a close, the long-awaited summer is finally here. Typically a 4-month break, students use this time to catch up with friends, do stuff that they have always wanted to do, or simply just get away from the hustle and bustle of school life.

Summer’s this year a little different for most SMU Sophomores hoping to complete their internship requirement though. Many will celebrate the hiatus from academics, few will lament the long hours of work and a lucky handful will truly enjoy their 10-week stint. But for the rest of us who aren’t so lucky to land our dream internship, I guess we’ll just have to delve deeper and find joy in whatever we’ll be doing.

For those who are still searching, sometimes I secretly wished I was in your shoes ‘cos you will have access to more opportunities and time to pursue your own endeavours. But for the rest of us aspiring interns, let’s make the best of what’s left of summer – 4 days remaining for me. Oh well, time to go read up on work stuff.
