There are situations in life that call for a quick well-judged decision, and then there are others which requires careful consideration. But mixing up these two types of situations can lead to very dire consequences. In certain decisions, the more factors taken into consideration, the more confusing it gets. And usually, in most cases, it ends up in a catch-22 situation.
Life is simple. But somehow or rather, man feels that he has too much time on his hands and decide to make things a lil’ more complicated. So, a simple equation of A + B can be thought to be as mind-boggling as Einstein’s quantum theory. Yes, it’s good to identify the possible pitfalls but sometimes, to pinpoint every drawback, that’s just plain excessive.
Considering the worst in every scenario is not just the behaviour of a pessimist but might point towards a more deep-rooted psychological issue, such as that bordering on paranoia. There is always a certain amount of risk to take in order to make progress. We can take time to reduce the magnitude, but to put in a disproportionate effort to nullify such possibilities, that would lead to regression instead.
