Life’s a journey with innumerable baggages, big and small. As we travel along its path, we are inevitably laden with more, and if we do not learn how to put them down, we’ll be overily taxed in no time. No doubt we’ll feel weary and fatigued because there’s only so much to our capacity.
Some people like to travel light, so they tend to pack as little as possible to carry with them. And as they are travelling, when they find certain pieces of luggage unnecessary, they know that it’ll be better to discard it than let it drag them down.
But there are also people who love to bring everything along when they travel. They have this just-in-case mentality and therefore, will hesitate to dispose of anything because they are always worrying that they might need it next time.
These two categories of travellers can be classified into “throwers” and “keepers”. The former tend to be less weighed down by life’s burdens as they know when it is time to put down the heavier bags so that they can go further. The latter, on the other hand, are more likely to fall behind others because they refuse to leave anything behind.
In life, we must learn how to be throwers. Because during the journey, we will pick up a lot of unexpected baggages, and if we do not know how to offload some of them, we’ll become so drained that we don’t make it to the end.
