Like a pulsating wave, there are periods of highs and lows. Such is life, undulating in nature, yet predictable because we have the ability to forecast. We can’t be on the ball 24/7 because we’re human and cannot maintain a 100% efficiency level every time. The human body is not a machine which you can expect precision and perfection from.

The innate ability of the human body to repair damages still intrigues me today. Although science have enabled us to understand how this happens, we have yet been able to replicate it using technology. Rest is needed for the body to recover on its own and that is why it’s of such importance that we cannot be functioning at high intensity levels for extensive periods without taking a break.

Mother Nature has made us this way because we first need to learn how to take care of ourselves before we can take care of others. If we fail to learn how to do so, we may not see the short-term aftereffects, but we’ll definitely suffer from the long-term consequences. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So, when it’s time to knock off, pack up and leave the rest till tomorrow. Work can wait, your health can’t.
