Time is of the essence

[]

Time is a reference and life is defined as a predetermined span of time. And that is why punctuality is often seen as a virtue because every second you’re late, you’re essentially wasting away somebody’s time, or lifespan for that matter. And if it’s a group, multiply it by the number of people. In the business world, time is also quintessential. Time represents money. Lose time, lose money – simple logic.

Being late is not an option or excuse. I can understand why some are so intolerant of habitual latecomers. Once is fine, twice is alright but more than that, you’ve got some serious issues. And not just that, the length of time you’re late for also goes to show for something. I can close an eye if you’re delayed for a couple of minutes, but hours, you’ve got a lot of explaining to do.

So, the next time you’re going to be late, you better have a good reason for it. If not, you’re certainly going to piss some people off. Put yourself in the shoes of someone who arrives on time. How would you like waiting for a friend who is always late? Whether you like it or not, patience is not a quality you’re going to find in many people today.
