Back in the old days, the whole company worked together for a common cause. We also adhere by the “Leave No Man Behind” policy. As a company, there ought to be a sense of belonging. But unfortunately, in recent times, this sense of integrity seems to be fading away. It’s no longer like it used to be. Now, it’s every man for himself.
Thursday night. As usual, we returned last from evaluation and started cleaning arms immediately after declaration and settling of stores. However, we were only given a short period of time to do so before RO is given. This wasn’t the case in the past. Furthermore, the company was reluctant to delay the RO timing as there were people booking out that night. Definitely signs of the company breaking apart.
Friday morning. For live run, we started and ended as a platoon. While we slowed down so that the slower runners can keep pace, the rest of the company went ahead with cooling down exercises. After lunch, we were supposed to book out. However, we first had to settle the vehicular TES sets. Unfortunately, they were in a mess and we spent a considerable amount of time to get them done. Inevitably, we delayed the booking out timing which was set beforehand. No doubt an unhealthy behaviour.
As a company, we should stick through thick and thin together if we want to survive. If this kind of selfish behaviour continues, it’ll certainly be a downhill slide. And then, life will not get any better for everyone.
