Your book out on Friday is cancelled. Wow, what a way to end the best week out of those that we’ve been through. There wasn’t much training this week as it marked the end of our first training phase. The break was meant to prepare us for the next phase which is expected to be much tougher.
After our exercise on Monday, we were rewarded with cohesion games and a much needed canteen break. This was to celebrate the successful completion of the first phase. Our morale was high. However, a twist awaited us right at the end of the week. Our complacency did us in. We thought we were good but how wrong were we.
Besides the physical punishment we received on Friday, many were demoralized by the fact that our book out that night has been cancelled. Nevertheless, the truth is that such was a privilege and not an entitlement. As much as we hated that, we can’t refute our discipline level had sunken to a new low.
Through this, some of us have grown mentally stronger. We musn’t let a small setback like this break us down. Also, putting in your best isn’t all that you can do. To sustain and improve the overall performance, everyone must work together as a team and help each other out of one’s own accord and not just for the sake of it. Only then can we achieve success.
